The Bardessono Hotel has received the first Platinum LEED Award in the state of California. The developer’s guideline was to create a hotel that provided guests with a luxurious experience while protecting the environment. Even though the design is cutting edge, it retains an atmosphere of warmth inspired by the architecture and wine of the Napa Valley. It blends the Valley’s agrarian character with an indoor/outdoor atmosphere. The guestroom shave recycled wood furniture and the bathroom floors are recycled walnut. To help with heat retention the windows in the rooms have specially designed motor-controlled exterior Venetian blinds. Sensors in the rooms extinguish lights when the rooms are unoccupied. The furniture and color palette reflect the deep commitment to the Valley’s rich heritage.
